Timekeepers License Criteria
Requirements for License Issuance:
• Experience:
• Must have prior experience in officiating or timekeeping in sports events, preferably boxing or martial arts.
• Familiarity with the structure of a boxing match, including understanding round durations, rest periods, and handling of time-based decisions.
• Training:
• Must attend a BPBA-approved timekeeper training program, which covers timekeeping rules, equipment usage, and emergency procedures
(e.g., handling of knockdowns, stoppages).
• Character Check: No record of misconduct or involvement in activities compromising the sport’s integrity.
• Application Fee: BDT 10,000
• License Validity: 1 years
Renewal Criteria:
• Renewal Fee: BDT 2,000 every 1 years.
• Activity: Must have served as a timekeeper in at least 3 boxing events over the past 1 year.
• Continued Training: Attend at least one timekeeping workshop organized by BPBA or a similar body during the licensing period.
Suspension & Revocation:
• License may be revoked for failure to accurately keep time during bouts, misuse of equipment, or involvement in misconduct.
