Commissioner License Criteria
Requirements for License Issuance
• Appointment Criteria:
• Commissioners are appointed directly by the BPBA based on their experience, reputation, and significant contributions to the sport of boxing.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in boxing administration, sports governance, or legal expertise in sports regulations.
• Responsibilities:
• Commissioners are responsible for overseeing boxing events, ensuring they comply with BPBA rules and regulations, sanctioning fights, and handling
disputes and appeals.
• Commissioners must have a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks governing professional boxing.
• Training:
• While commissioners are appointed based on experience, they must attend BPBA-conducted legal and administrative training seminars to stay updated
on the latest sports regulations.
• No Application Fee Required: As commissioners are appointed, no formal
application process or fee is necessary.
Renewal Criteria:
• Renewal Fee: N/A
• Appointment Renewal: Commissioners serve a 2-year term, after which their appointment may be renewed based on their performance and contributions.
• Ongoing Training: Commissioners must attend BPBA or international seminars on governance and boxing law every 1 years.
Suspension & Revocation:
• A commissioner’s appointment may be terminated due to conflicts of interest, failure to enforce rules impartially, misconduct, or any activity that brings disrepute to BPBA.
